Lean & Spicy Taco Meat

Made this for a family birthday celebration and it was a big hit!

Yield: 6

8 oz. 93% lean ground beef

8 oz. 99% lean ground turkey breast

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 (10 oz. can) diced tomatoes with green chiles

1/2 tsp. ground cumin

1/2 tsp. ground chipotle chile

1/2 tsp. dried oregano

  1. Place beef, turkey and onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook, breaking up meat with wooden spoon, until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Transfer to colander & drain off fat. Wipe out pan. Return meat to pan and add tomatoes, cumin, ground chipotle chile & oregano. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until most of liquid has evaporated, 3-6 minutes.
