Saucy Sirloin Steak

Yield: 4     (serving size: 3 oz. steak + 3 tbsp. sauce)

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 tsp. black pepper

1 lb. boneless sirloin steak, trimmed

cooking spray

1 tsp. olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 cup beef broth

1/4 cup hoisin sauce

3 tsp. red wine vinegar

2 tsp. Dijon mustard

1 tsp. tomato paste

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Combine first (3) ingredients in a small bowl; sprinkle over steak. Place steak on broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Broil 3-6 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Let stand 5 minutes.
  3. While steak is standing, heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add broth and remaining (4) ingredients. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes or until thick, stirring with whisk. Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices and serve with sauce.
